Parisian Blonde Cocktail

Parisian Blonde

From page 134 Mr. Boston Official Bartender's Guide, 1984 Edition.

3/4 Oz Light Cream
3/4 Oz Triple Sec (LeRoux)
3/4 Oz Jamaica Rum (Myers's Dark)

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass

Today was another really nice day; sure hope the hurricane doesn't turn this way!

I chose a Parisian Blonde for the cocktail this afternoon. I thought the dark rum would really flavor the drink but it was quite mellow and drinkable, more like I expected than some of the sweeter recipes I've tried recently. The dark rum flavor came through very slightly. It wasn't a favorite cocktail but we enjoyed it. Mix one and try it; it's worth a shot!

Saronno Cocktail

Saronno Cocktail

1 oz Amaretto di Saronno
1 oz Brandy (E&J XO)
1 oz Light Cream

Shake well with cracked ice.
Stain and serve in cocktail glass

Page 154 in Mr Boston Official Bartender's Guide.

This was a dessert-type cocktail, somewhat sweet but very good. It was reminiscent of toasted almonds I used to enjoy.

I really like almonds and this drink is a great replacement for the Brandy Alexander I have on special occasions.

Try it; you'll like it!
